Pittsburgh Airport Parking Choices For The Veteran Passenger

Pit

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is actually acknowledged as one of the best airports in the country at present, evaluated according to service excellence and customer satisfaction ratings. Amenities and services here, such as Pittsburgh Airport parking for example, are the envy of other airports of comparable size to Pittsburgh Airport. More than 8,000,000 travelers move through Pittsburgh annually, but despite the fairly huge volume of travelers, airport parking at PIT continues to be extremely satisfactory.

There are about thirteen thousand PIT parking spaces open to passengers on-site. Let’s evaluate your options.

Airport Garage Parking

Garage Parking is, obviously, the most handy parking choice at Pittsburgh Airport. This is a short-term service accessible in the two airport garages found right in front of the terminal. At $24 daily maximum ($1 for the first hour, $3 for each subsequent hour), terminal garage parking is ideal for quick trips to the airport meeting or dropping off a passenger.

Long-term Parking at PIT

Long-Term Parking is also a hassle-free service and a great deal friendlier to your budget. There are 3,750 bays reserved for long-term Pittsburgh Airport parking. These are allocated in the lots adjacent to the airport hotel and are linked to the Landside Terminal through a moving boardwalk. Parking here will cost $12 daily and is most likely the perfect option for travelers on quick trips, visitors, and sightseers.

For those on a tight budget, the most cost-effective airport parking choice is Extended Parking at just $8 each day. There are 7,350 spots intended for this service situated right behind the long-term parking lots. The lot is served by cost-free luxury shuttle vehicles running frequently to ferry passengers to and from the Landside Terminal building.

Outside Parking

Like in just about any bustling airport, the airport-operated garages and lots generally be at full occupancy at some time in the course of a given week (especially during the holidays), it’s always prudent to have other choices in addition to the airport. There are a number of remote parking services that can help you out in the event that there’s no longer any place to park at the airport. The best thing with these locations aside from the competitive prices is that you can actually reserve your Pittsburgh Airport parking space with them long before your scheduled trip.

To mention one or two examples, Charlie Brown’s Airport Parking lot on Flaugherty Run Rd features fees that are comparable to the Extended Parking rate at PIT airport. The nearby FastTrack Garage likewise provides similar affordable fees and both of these establishments have their own complimentary ground transportation to take passengers to (or collect them from) the airport terminal.

Pittsburgh Airport parking, especially throughout the peak weeks, can be a little bit of a bother for those who choose to chance it, without reviewing availability initially with PIT's website (they do put up current parking status in their facilities). In many cases, the on-site facilities are filled to capacity and that might be a problem if you’re in a dash to get on a flight.

If you’re traveling through the holidays, the most effective strategy if you ask me, is to prepare for your travel ahead of schedule and secure your airport parking online with the outside providers. Going on a trip can at times be stressful if you tend to be anxious about a lot of things. Pittsburgh Airport parking doesn't have to be one of those.

Discover Popular Philadelphia Airport Parking Alternatives

Michaelwm25

What  Philadelphia Airport parking would you recommend to a friend or a family member? My sister asked me this question just recently while organizing a holiday trip to Spain. The family is flying out of PHL to Madrid on a 15-day trip, they reside in D.C. but my sister was able to ferret out lower-priced tickets from PHL. They’re driving up to Philadelphia from Washington D.C. for the flight and wanted to have their van ready for them at Philly for some visiting when they come back.

With more than thirty-one million flyers using Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) yearly, looking for a parking location on the spot with no earlier reservations can be a formula for a horribly stressful trip. Philadelphia Airport parking on-site is hassle-free but could be high priced and can quickly fill to capacity generally during the holiday seasons. What are her options off-airport?

To start off, let’s look at the on-site parking choices. Definitely, the $300 15-day parking fee at the terminal garages won’t do, so we started browsing for inexpensive parking rates. Budget parking at PHL is accessible at the lot next to Island Avenue. Still comfortably within sight of the terminal via free shuttle service which the airport operates but at $11 each day, that is equivalent to $165 for a 15-day uncovered parking. My sister suggested we should go on searching.

Outside the airport, a number of private providers offer very competitive parking rates for PHL passengers. We looked at all the rates and narrowed down the choices to the ExpressPark lot on Tinicum Island Rd and the Colonial parking lot on S Governor Printz Blvd. Colonial charges a bit more (at $133 for 15 days parking) than Expresspark ($119), but it’s highly endorsed by an associate so we regarded the $14 discrepancy is well worth the very good standard of service in this location.

 PHL Airport Parking on Hubpages

But, my sister remembered that they would possibly have to lodge at a neighboring airport hotel when they return to do some sightseeing in the city the next morning - their return flight from Europe is slated to land at PHL at 3:30 in the afternoon - too limited a window afterward to experience Philly’s attractions and drive more than 2 hours back to the Beltway.

In that case, the best alternative is most likely hotel parking, I said to my sister. She was concerned that it could get terribly  pricey, but when I informed her that it’s really the most cost-effective choice considering their travel schedule she acquiesced to take a closer look.

Yet again, we did a review of all the airport hotels in the area and reduced the options between Ramada Airport Hotel and Skyview Plaza Hotel and Suites. Both hotels are situated very close to the terminal and both field 24-hour ground transportation. There’s a significant gap in rates though - Ramada’s room rate for 4 persons with 14-day hotel parking starts off at $189 whereas Skyview only charges $109 for the same combo. I called up a close friend who frequently flies out of PHL and had used Ramada in a number of occasions previously. She replied that Ramada is excellent in her past visits and the price disparity is worth it.

Ultimately, my sister decided to stay with Ramada for their Philadelphia Airport parking and needed to find out if she can get the 1 day parking fee ($7.95) for their 15th day of parking off the total bill. I left her talking to the hotel parking manager - that’s my ever thrifty sister, bless her. Looking forward to enjoying the family pics of the Almudena's interiors and the cochinillo asado at Sobrino de Botín.

National Airport Parking Choices for the Busy Passenger

Washington_national_airport
Reagan Washington National Airport. Photo: Alex Steffler on Flickr.

National Airport parking is fortunately easier at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), in Arlington County, Virginia than in most other large airports in the country. DCA Airport is the nearest commercial airport to Washington D.C. central business district. Previously called the Washington National Airport, it was renamed in 1988 in honor of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan. DCA Airport handles more than eighteen million passengers annually.

Daily and Hourly Parking

There are over 9,400 National Airport parking spaces available today. Approximately 2,956 of these are in the economy parking lot in the south side of the airport. Daily and hourly parking are allowed at airport garages A, B, and C. Hourly parking can be quite costly at $4 per hour, not to exceed $36 daily. Still, this is the best parking option for those who have business at DCA and would need to park for up to 2 hours. If you need to park longer, you might want to take a daily parking spot at the rate of $20 per day. Finally, there’s always the economy lot for only $12 per day.

Parking for Disabled Passengers

There are several designated National Airport parking spaces for handicapped passengers, conveniently located near elevators and shuttle bus stops. Cars with handicapped persons on board needing parking assistance are requested to show their city-issued placards or plates to the uniformed parking crew, who will also help locate a convenient parking spot in case the designated bays are already full.

Cell Phone Waiting Area

There’s also a courtesy cell phone waiting lot for those who are waiting for an arriving passenger at the airport. You’re not allowed to leave your vehicle while inside the waiting area and you can park for up to 2 hours, but this still beats wasting gas to pass the time or paying $4 an hour at the airport garages.

DCA Parking Information on HubPages

Long Term Parking

If you’re parking at DCA Airport for a long vacation or business trip, daily parking is easily the most financially sound option. Naturally, just like in any other city, airport-managed facilities are always available at premium rates for their proximity to the terminals. For less expensive DCA parking destinations, your best choice would be the nearby private parking locations offering highly competitive rates.

Off-Airport Alternatives

Check out the hotel parking services at DCA and you’ll be very pleased by the affordable long term options. Courtyard Crystal City (half a mile from the airport) and Sheraton Crystal City Hotel (1.20 miles from the airport), both located on Jefferson Davis Hwy, charge only $8 per day at their indoor parking facilities, for instance.

The Obvious Choice

For a hypothetical 5-day trip, parking at the airport facilities will set you back $100, $60 at the economy lot, while only $40 at the hotel parking locations. Factor in the free shuttle transportation that will take you to and pick you up from your terminal when you arrive, the choice for your National Airport parking becomes really apparent.

Reserve Your Parking in Advance

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), being very close to federal government offices and foreign embassies, is comparatively restricted than most other airports, in terms of security, number of flights, and international entry. Still, with more than 18 million passengers flying through the airport annually, National Airport parking can sometimes be a problem particularly during the peak seasons. You need not go through any hassle, however: just be familiar with your parking alternatives and secure your parking space in advance.

BWI Parking Options for the Rushed Traveler

Bwi_parking_map
BWI Airport (on-site) parking map. Source: www.bwiairport.com.

BWI parking facilities, by far, are among the very best - in comparison to a number of airports of similar size that we’ve seen throughout the the U.S. and Canada. This is consistent to BWI’s enviable reputation - in 2010, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) was ranked by the Airports Council International as the best airport of its size (15-25 million passengers passing through every year) in the world.

If you’re flying out of BWI Marshall and looking for a good BWI parking spot, you should strongly consider dropping off your car at one of the airport’s own parking facilities. We’re getting ahead of ourselves here, let’s first look closely at the various BWI Airport parking alternatives to choose from.

Hourly Parking

Compared to the parking fees in nearby airports like Philadelphia (PHL) or Dulles (IAD), the hourly rate ($4) for parking at BWI is decidedly much lower. For that price, it’s also the most accessible, located just in front of the main airport terminal. Still, if you’re planning to park for more than 2 hours, this is not a cheap option.

Daily Rates

Likewise, the BWI rate for daily parking ($12 per day) is lower than in some neighboring airports such as Reagan National ($20 per day). If you’ll be away for several days, bringing your car to the BWI covered parking facility is not a bad idea.

BWI Airport Parking on HubPages

Express Parking at BWI Airport

What would you pay for a parking option where you’re transported by shuttle service from the very spot where you parked your car right to your airline terminal? When you come back, the same free shuttle service will take you directly from the terminal to parked vehicle. This is exactly what BWI Express parking does and at $10 daily, I’m sure many travel-weary passengers could use the service.

BWI Long Term Parking

If you’re going on a vacation or business trip for a full month and looking for a parking spot that will not cost you an arm and a leg when you come back, the long term BWI Airport parking option is the way to go. You can hardly go wrong at $8 daily with the lots serviced by closely-scheduled shuttle vans.

Outside Parking

There are several remote privately-managed garages and lots open to BWI passengers, like the Park ‘N Fly lot along Camp Meade Road and the EconoPark Express along Ridge Road. These establishments offer long term parking rates starting at $9 to $10 daily and are served by their own shuttle transportation. These are often owned by large parking networks operating dozens of other similar facilities throughout the U.S. - they’re a great option for parking long-term.

So, why am I strongly recommending BWI on-site parking? There’s just one reason, of course - the rates. It’s way more economical to bring your car to BWI Airport’s own long term parking facilities than at any off-airport lot or garage - something that simply doesn’t happen in many of the other major airports. BWI goes the extra mile with things like parking bay sensors, flat tire changes, jump cables for dead batteries, help with locked-in car keys - which all adds more sizzle to their best parking service.

Looking for the ideal BWI parking? Now you know where to look for it.

Dulles Airport Parking - Steps To Find the Choicest Parking Spot

Dulles_airport_parking
Passengers at the parking lot in front of Dulles Terminal building. Photo: Mark Levisay on Flickr.

The Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), located in the communities of Chantilly and Dulles in Virginia, is named after John Foster Dulles, U.S. Secretary of State under President Eisenhower. Dulles Airport parking can be quite a challenge due to the sheer volume of people using this airport. Every single day, 1000 to 1200 flights originate from or arrive at Dulles. Yearly, more than 23 million people pass through Dulles Airport, making it one of the largest airports in the United States.

Dulles airport parking spots are found in the airport lots and garages located within the airport compound. Travellers flying out of Dulles can also choose to park at nearby private facilities. Below are some of the parking choices available to you:

Hourly Parking

At the published rate of $4 per hour (maximum of $36 per day), hourly parking at IAD is easily the priciest Dulles airport parking option available. It’s ideal if you need to park your vehicle for 2 hours or less. Of course, it’s also the most convenient, sitting right in front of the main airport terminal.

Valet Parking

If you’re willing to pay for an extra layer of luxury, Dulles Airport’s valet parking service is your best choice. It’s convenient to have your vehicle waiting for you at the terminal doorsteps after a long flight but at the rate of $30 for the first 24 hours and $19 for each additional day, this alternative is not the most economical for a lot of people.

Daily Parking

The daily Dulles airport parking garages 1 and 2, located at the back and to the side of the hourly parking lot, are accessible from the main terminal by covered walkway. At the cost of $17 per day, these parking facilities are definitely cheaper than either valet or hourly parking.

IAD Airport Parking Hub

Economy Parking

Dulles Airport economy parking lots Gold, Purple, Green, and Blue are located at some distance north of the main terminal. Accessible from the Dulles Access Highway, the economy lots are the best alternative for people who want to save on their long term parking payments. The daily rate is only $10.

Cell Phone Waiting Area

If you’re picking up a friend from the airport and are waiting for that person to call, the airport provides a Cell Phone Waiting Area off Autopilot Drive. The area is free to use up to one hour only but you’re not allowed to leave your vehicle unattended while inside the lot. To be appraised of the status of a particular flight, call 703-572-6240 ( be ready with the flight number), while you wait.

Off-airport Dulles Parking

There are several private providers who manage IAD parking garages and lots close to Dulles airport. The rates are easy on the pocket and these establishments have their own fleets of shuttle vans available on demand or at regular intervals. Marriott’s SpringHill Suites, for example, located 3 miles from the airport along Spring St, has a wallet-friendly rate of only $8 per day.

Logan Airport Parking – Fast Solutions for Your Parking Needs

Logan Airport parking can sometimes be a frustrating experience for the hapless passenger. Of course, this does not have to be your plight if you familiarize yourself with your parking choices. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), practically a city in its own right, is Massachusetts’ largest airport. BOS airport occupies 2,384 acres of property that includes a fire department, a police department, a power plant, 2 hotels, and a chapel. To date, close to 13 million passengers have already passed through Logan Airport in 2010. With this high volume of passengers, parking at Logan airport could be a bit of a problem if you don’t know where to go.

There are several Logan airport parking choices on-site that are available to employees, air travelers and the general public. In addition to these, you have the convenience of going to any of the nearby private lots as well. Detailed below are some of the best parking alternatives you may want to consider.

Logan Central Parking Garage

The Central Parking Garage is the best option for passengers who want ’walking distance’ access to the airport terminals (A,B,C and E). Travelers can immediately walk to and from this parking garage to their terminals by way of pedestrian walkways, bridges and moving sidewalks. Logan airport parking prices at this garage are $3 per thirty minutes or $6 per hour, maximum of $24 daily.

Economy Parking

Parking at Logan airport provides for budget-friendly options also. The Economy Parking Lots are always accessible from the terminals with the regular shuttle service. The half hour parking rate is $3 or $6 per hour, with a daily rate of $18. If you are in need of Logan airport long-term parking, this facility would be the best alternative. Long term parking rates  are available (based on 5-7 day stay) at $108 per week.

Boston Logan Parking Hub

Guaranteed Parking at Logan Airport

If you have little time or need guaranteed Boston airport parking space, you should look into their PASSport or the PASSport Gold programs. With these programs you have the privilege of quick in and out access to parking at Logan airport by simply swiping your card at the meter when entering or exiting the lots. Registration is required for these programs and pricing is a bit more expensive for PASSport Gold members in view of the parking guarantee. As a PASSport Gold member, if by chance no space is available, your car will be valet serviced without any additional cost to you.

Off-Airport Parking

There are numerous private Boston airport parking companies that run garages and lots near Logan airport. Many provide affordable rates and free shuttle service to and from the airport. For example, Park Shuttle & Fly, is open for business less than 3 miles north on William F. McClellan Hwy. Currently, their daily rate is $18.50, with a long term parking rate of $130 per week. Shuttle service between all terminals and the garage is always free for all parking customers. Always verify the prices with your parking facility before booking your reservations.

With the number of Logan airport parking alternatives open to you, you are guaranteed to get one that meets your needs. Locating the best Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) parking space doesn’t have to be a stressful experience.

Explore TF Green Parking Alternatives

Tf-green-airport-parking
Parking lot in front of PVD Terminal. Photo: Innapoy on Wikimedia Commons.

TF Green parking is quite simple and uncomplicated. A quick peek at T.F. Green International Airport layout and parking arrangements will have any passenger quickly on his way to getting parking. TF Green Airport (PVD), formally known as Theodore Francis Green State Airport, was named after former United States Senator Theodore F. Green. Rhode Island Airport Corporation manages 6 airports, of which TF Green Airport is the largest and most dynamic of them all.

TF Green is a viable alternative to Boston’s Logan International Airport due to less frequent schedule changes and faster security processing time. Apparently, TF Green parking is subject to less hassle and complications that uninformed passengers of Logan Airport may sometimes encounter. There are over 8,300 parking spots in service at the airport and a good number of remote garages and lots. Passengers and airport workers have a choice of hourly, daily, short-term or long term PVD parking.

Hourly Parking

Directly in front of the terminals is Lot D, a short-term hourly PVD parking lot. This parking lot is ideal for people who are in a rush to get to the terminals. The capacity for  parking in this lot is 490 spots. Parking at facility is $3 for every thirty minutes or $6 for an hour, with a daily maximum of $26. This short-term parking lot  is the best parking choice if you will be at the airport for no more than 1 or 2 hours.

Daily Parking

Next to the main buildings, through the departure and arrival avenues, are the Providence Airport parking garages A and B.  Combined, these two garages house 2075 spaces complete with disabled parking and access. The daily rate is $22 at garage A and $18 at garage B.

TF Green Airport Parking on HubPages

Weekly Parking

TF Green parking also offers solutions to long-term parking needs. Garage C provides the best rates for covered long term parking within airport grounds. Passengers can easily get to this garage directly from the terminals. This garage has the capacity to hold 1500 cars with convenient access for handicapped travelers.  The parking rates at garage C are $15 daily or $60 weekly. For those on a budget, TF Green airport also has economy long-term parking at Express Lot E with 4,300 inexpensive parking spaces. The rate here is $11 daily and $55 weekly. Free continuous shuttle service will transport passengers to and from the lot to the terminal building.

Off-Airport Parking

Another option you may wish to look into for Providence Airport parking, is a remote parking lot or garage. There are quite a few topnotch parking facilities near the airport. Most of these have budget-friendly rates and they do operate shuttle service to and from the facility and the airport. One popular destination for long term airport parking is Thrifty Parking on Post Road. Parking at Thrifty costs $9.95 per day and $49.95 per week. A mere 9 minute shuttle trip will get you to this facility located less than 5 miles away from the airport.  This TF Green parking provider offers free airport transportation 24 hours a day and will even detail or service your vehicle upon request. Additional fees will apply for vehicle service and detailing.

Bradley Airport Parking – The Missing Manual

Bradley_airport_parking_map_bestparking
Parking map of Bradley Airport. Source: Best Parking.

There are 8 Bradley Airport parking stations and 3 excellent remote facilities that passengers at Bradley airport will want to consider. Spending just a few short minutes learning the airport parking layout will help you to easily find a great parking space and keep you moving smoothly on your trip.

According to J.D. Power and Associates’ airports review,  fewer than 10 million passengers fly through Bradley International Airport (BDL) annually. Despite the comparatively light traffic, parking at Bradley airport has always been an issue. In the last few years, improving Bradley airport parking has been relentlessly worked on.

Bradley airport parking on-site is actually well-placed and can be conveniently accessed via walkways or by free shuttle service. Very close to terminal A are two parking garages – the Short-term Garage and the Long-term Garage. Lot B is another short-term parking lot just a few minute’s walk from the terminals. Four more long-term parking lots are available via the airport’s shuttle service.

Parking at the Short-term garage and Lot B at Bradley is at $2.50 for every half hour and $4.50 for every 1 hour. Daily parking at Lot B costs slightly lower at $16 than at the Short-term Garage, which has a daily rate of $24. The best parking use for either of these locations is for short 1-3 hour stay the airport.

BDL Airport Parking Hub

On-airport, a number of daily parking options is in the Long-term Garage and in Lots 1, 3, 4 and 5B. The Long-term Garage is just a few meters away and has the best half hour ($2.50) and hourly ($4.50) rates, or a maximum of $20 for every 24-hour period. 7 days parking here would set you back $140. The most economical rates are in lots 1, 3, 4, and 5B which can be reached via shuttle service. All of these locations have an hourly rate of $4. Lot 1 has a daily rate of $11 and a weekly rate of $77. Lot 3’s daily rate is $8, with a weekly rate of $53. Lot 5B has the best rates, currently at $6 daily and $42 weekly.

Off-site BDL parking garages and lots can save you a tidy amount with their enticing discounts and promo offers. Two topnotch parking facilities that I can think of right now are FastTrack on the Ella Grasso Turnpike and Park Shuttle & Fly on Elm St. They do offer free shuttle service on demand all day long 7 days a week. The ’Stay Park Fly’ arrangement provided by most nearby hotels is a very cost-effective option, also. Clarion Inn and Suites, for instance, offers complimentary parking for up to 15 days, with standby shuttle service, starting at $89 per night. They’re open for business on Bridge St - just 4 miles from Bradley.

Bradley airport parking need not be a difficult task for you. Simply do a basic research to know more about your choices. Always confirm rates with off-airport facilities for the best deals they offer. You’re bound to find a solution that works best for you if you  keep looking.

Top Manchester NH Airport Parking Options for New Hampshire Flyers

Mht_airport
Manchester Boston Regional Airport (MHT). Photo: HVS Global Consulting.

Manchester Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is located in Manchester, New Hampshire, about 50 miles north of Boston. MHT is New England’s fourth busiest airport serving over 3,000,000 travelers annually. There are approximately 7,000 Manchester NH airport parking spots in service, at this time. The following are some of the most popular MHT airport parking choices:

Hourly Parking

MHT Airport’s short-term parking Lot A is located in front of the main airport terminal. It’s the most accessible location but it’s also the the least budget-friendly at $3 per hour with a maximum of $24 for every 24 hours. There’s no overnight parking in this lot and there’s a vehicle height restriction of 6’9” so tall vehicles like buses, RVs, and trucks will not be able to park here. This facility is ideal for quick 3-5 hour stays at the airport.

Daily Parking

The Daily Parking Garage is accessible from the terminal through an elevated pedestrian walkway. This garage has about 4,800 Manchester NH airport parking spaces available to passengers. The parking rate here is $17 per day or $85 weekly.

MHT Long-term Parking

Long-term parking at Manchester Airport is available at Lots C, D, E, F & G. These facilities can be reached via free shuttle service provided by the airport. The cost for daily parking is $10 which is best for travelers looking for inexpensive MHT airport parking.

Manchester Airport Parking on HubPages

Cell Phone Lot

Another short-term Manchester NH airport parking option is the cell phone parking lot. This free lot is on Ammon Dr right next to the FAA Air Traffic Control Tower and the parking garage. It’s a convenient waiting area for drivers who are picking up passengers and are just waiting until the passengers have deplaned. As soon as the passengers have collected their baggage they can call the driver to the terminal curb for pick-up.

Park, Stay, and Fly

There are a number of hotels very close to the airport that provide Manchester NH airport parking. A great example would be the Best Western Executive Court Inn & Conference Center on Willow Street, just a few minutes drive from the main terminal. Hotel patrons will not be charged for parking throughout the duration of their stay. However, for all other parties who want to park at the hotel’s parking lot the  charge would be $6 per day.

If you check in at the hotel for at least one night at the start or when you arrive from your travel, the reduced Park & Stay rate is $4 per day for the duration of your trip when you aren’t renting a room. Of course, for the nights that you’re staying at the hotel , parking is free - regular room rate starts at $99 per night. For a 30-day trip, a one night stay at the hotel to get the reduced parking rate is probably your best parking option.

As we can see with these facilities - from the cell phone lot to the airport hotel parking packages - there are great Manchester NH airport parking options to go with. So get right to it and reserve your ticket from MHT airport and if possible, book your parking spot, as well - it’s not a tough choice to make.

JFK Parking - Smart JFK Parking App Review

Jfk-airport1

New York Kennedy Airport's AirTrain. Photo: Paul Lowry on Flickr.

Gone were those days when people looking for parking coupons have to scour countless glossies and broadsheets to get the prized (but often pitifully small) discount coupon. These days, passengers trying to find the best bargains and reduced rates for parking at JFK Airport just have to go online for a few minutes, choose from the impressive line-up of parking alternatives, pay for and guarantee their parking long before their scheduled flight.

With the internet, people now have the ability to pinpoint the ideal parking at JFK Airport and to reserve that choice easily, with nothing more than a few mouseclicks - no calls or trips needed. Nothing can be better than this, right? Wrong. The Smart JFK Parking app just upped (no pun intended) the ante and made placing parking reservations easier and more convenient than ever before.

"Today, more than ever, choices

are plentiful but great service is not."

Launched by SmartPark JFK, a top-notch parking provider at JFK airport, the 'Smart' app enables users to simply go to the SmartPark mobile site and reserve JFK Airport parking even without access to a PC or laptop through their cell phones only. Announced last fall, the Smart mobile app promises to be a next-level customer service application targeted at the typically rushed New Yorkers.

"Today, more than ever, choices are plentiful but great service is not," quips Adam Smith, Operations Director at SmartPark JFK. The Smart Park JFK mobile app "exemplifies SmartPark JFK’s broader commitment to the consumer, always thinking of ways to improve the customer’s experience."

The main advantage of this app, naturally, is the PC-less easy reservation function. It also features online hosting which means that, unlike other travel apps, there’s no need to buy the app or to download any client to your mobile phone. Since it is hosted on SmartPark JFK's servers, it won't be eating up a lot of your phone’s battery time.

The Smart app is quite well-received among the most tech-savvy 25-42 age bracket and also gaining some users among the over 50 age brackets. SmartPark JFK estimates that approximately 10% of all JFK long-term parking reservations are done via the Smart app.

JFK Parking on Squidoo

The obvious disadvantage to this app that immediately comes to mind is that it restricts the choices of the traveler. All mobile reservations are limited to SmartPark JFK’s in-house parking services exclusively. This isn't exactly an onerous arrangement - users with very limited time can conveniently reserve their parking space in just a few minutes from anywhere basically as long as they have their mobile phones with them. In comparison, it would require about 10 minutes minimum to compare the various alternatives, if they’re able to see the rates of the other facilities providing parking at JFK Airport. The SmartPark JFK facility in Queens has just recently opened for business and offers some of the most budget-friendly rates in the industry.

However, if you have the inclination, try to see the services and rates that the competing parking sites and hotels near the airport are offering. Whether you're using the Smart app or your old laptop for searching, the goal is to find the cheapest airport parking or the  best bargains out there - there’s plenty of these, as you probably know - and place your reservation in advance.  See what other customers are saying about the facility you're planning to use. Apps and laptops are excellent tools when you're on the lookout for the ideal parking at JFK Airport but in the end, it's the experiences (in regard to these facilities)  of travelers like you that may be the best gauge.
